The Hoka Challenger 8 women’s trail running shoe is designed to take on the challenges of gritty trails, steep slopes and rocky inclines as well as handling roads just as well. The versatility comes from the pairing of plush cushioning with a grippy outsole underfoot and impressively long-lasting lugs that will endure over hard packed trails and pavements.

Now with even more foam added to the midsole, the plush cushioning is noticeably enhanced. The Challenger 8 has also seen an increase to the heel-to-forefoot drop, now sitting at 8mm, up from 5mm. Although possibly a bit of a surprise for loyal Challenger wearers, this change may appeal to heel strikers.

All-round comfort is assured, thanks to the improved fit, plush collar and a lightweight breathable mesh upper. And for that added protection the shoe maintains a durable 3D printed rubber toe cap. The Challenge 8 performs well in providing both protective cushioning while also maintaining a responsive toe-off for when you want to increase your speed.
