Hoka Mafate 5 Men's Trail Running Shoes Mineral Blue/Washed Blue

The Hoka Mafate 5, for men, is a high-cushion, high-traction trail shoe that offers all-day comfort and foot protection for technical days out in the mountains. Building on the success of its predecessors, upgrades include a plusher ride and increased stability - perfect for those wanting to cover long distances without feeling like the cushioning disappears as the run gets longer. The improved dual-density midsole delivers firmer foam closer to the foot and softer foam underneath to create a responsive ride without feeling harsh underfoot.

Improvements to the upper are noticeable, offering a more secure fit and structure than previous models - the upper has a snug fit without generating pressure points, eliminating unwanted movement of the foot inside the shoe. The reinforced mesh upper construction brings added durability and includes an improved toe shield, which resists wear on steep, rocky descents. While the added support and protection is noticeable, the shoe doesn't feel bulky or heavy and maintains a relatively light feel underfoot, even over long distances.

5mm Vibram Megagrip lugs on the outsole provide excellent traction, meaning you can run on wet rock, loose gravel and through the mud with confidence. The wide base provides excellent stability, which becomes noticeable when running on tired legs or carrying a backpack.

Designed with mountain terrain and technical running in mind, the Mafate 5 works just well on mixed trails, making it a reliable choice for ultra-distance runs or back-to-back long days on the hills.
